Lemon Salt

Love lemons? Then you'll be charmed with lemon salt.
The secret is simply that we chose the best salt in the world and added a squeeze of lemon, some friendly herbs and lemon's best friend - a touch of garlic.

Imagine the best salt in the world...

This is the salt at the heart of all our sprinkle and grinder blends.

Made by the sun and wind from brine out of a marine aquifer that is ancient - even in geological time - from a time long before pollution began.

Then, the salt is lightly 'processed' - sieved, picked clean by hand and packed.

This means the crystals stay as perfect as they were formed, with all the natural marine minerals that are usually lost in the harsh grinding and high heat, commercial processes.

Experience 'next level' salt - much saltier than table salt (so use it sparingly!) - and best for last: it is pure, perfect and complete (without fillers and anti-caking agents!) - that is why your food tastes so very, very good.

Looking for plain salt-perfection? Have a look at The Savoury - same salt, in a beautiful 500g box.

Perfectly fresh green beans need little more than a light steaming (don't over-cook them - test them after 5 minutes and remove from heat when they're almost done - remember, they'll keep cooking with residual heat.)

Prepare for deliciousness! Just before serving, drizzle them with a little melted butter (or Cape Treasures Smoked Olive Oil) and a sprinkle of Lemon Salt.

The slightly acidic spike of Lemon Salt is just the thing to add a sparkle to Pesto Pasta with peas and Parmesan... Pro-tip: use a fork, dipped in lemon juice to drop a few accents onto the pasta just before serving.

Just in case you need reminding - Lemon Salt is very, very good with all things fresh and green. We like our mixed greens salad with a little splash of Cape Treasures Smoked Olive oil, a squeeze of fresh lemon and a sprinkle of Lemon Salt.

Lemon Salt is the perfect table condiment to 'finish' Greek Lemon Potatoes.

These oven-roasted poatoes are not the classically crisp on the outside roast potatoes, they are soft and golden and deliciously tangy - perfect side dish for roast lamb, chicken and grilled fish.

They're extremely easy to make (and almost 100% un-mess-up-able!).

Pre-heat the oven to 190℃. Find an oven-proof dish with medium high sides (not a flat oven-tray), big enough for ± 1,2kg of potatoes.

Peel and cut 1,2kg of waxy potatoes into boat-shaped wedges and put them into the roasting dish. Try and get the wedges more or less the same size - they'll cook more evenly.

Splash the juice of 1 large lemon (or 2 small ones), and 100ml olive oil over the potatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste. Scatter ±10ml of dried oregano over the top. Turn the potatoes a couple of times to coat. Pour 2 cups of hot water down the sides of the dish and pop into the hot oven. After 15 minutes, turn the temperature down to 180℃ and bake for a further hour. Once or twice during the cooking time, baste the potatoes with the liquid in the pan.

Just before serving, turn the potatoes out into a warmed serving dish and finish with a sprinkle of Lemon Salt.

And then there's roast chicken... Some of the younger family (who dont like black pepper) make a lemon-garlic mayo, to enjoy with Lemon Salt on their roast chicken and fries - particularly the fries!

Lemon Salt is versatile. It works at its best as a table condiment and some super-fans use it every day...
